On this past Wednesday, March 23rd President Biden and his advisors made a determination on Russia that should come as a shocker to absolutely no one. If you’ve been paying any kind of attention to their invasion of Ukraine, you will see just how standoffish and evil the Russians have been when facing off with old women, or those who are unable to defend themselves against a column of tanks.
Yet once those tanks run out of fuel or ammo they become whining crying little kids who just want to go back to Moscow and their mommies. Just like the kid who will take their ball and go home when they aren’t winning, this invading pack of losers has been playing war unfairly. While traveling to Brussels to meet with NATO leaders for an emergency summit, Secretary of State Antony Blinken released a statement about their actions. “Today, I can announce that, based on information currently available, the U.S. government assesses that members of Russia’s forces have committed war crimes in Ukraine.”
This isn’t the damning exclamation of hate that many would have loved to hear Blinken or Biden proclaim, but it means he found something, and that something can be used to make a lot of things happen. These kinds of statements precluded the smoking gun used to go invade Iraq and were implied but not needed when we went into Afghanistan on 9/11 following the attacks. Finding evidence is the first step to not only condemning the leadership but in ensuring that the leadership is removed.
Blinken didn’t just stop at the vague verbiage though. He added in some details that made it make more sense. “We’ve seen numerous credible reports of indiscriminate attacks and attacks deliberately targeting civilians, as well as other atrocities. Russia’s forces have destroyed apartment buildings, schools, hospitals, critical infrastructure, civilian vehicles, shopping centers, and ambulances, leaving thousands of innocent civilians killed or wounded.” Numerous clips to support these claims have been going around various social media and underground news sites. From videos of Russians attempting to torture Ukrainians early on as they crossed the border, to images that appear to show the use of white phosphorus on both Ukrainian troops and civilians alike.
These crimes certainly would get Putin and other Russian leaders a trial for their crimes, but who will stand trial when the Russian leadership dies off? The Ukrainian forces have been picking off various Russian Generals almost at will. With the massive casualties their forces are suffering, people must be rising through the ranks like missiles to fill the spots left by their dead comrades. Then again, who would want to fill spots left by people who got killed by someone who is a stagehand for a profession?
With the conflict looking to spread into neighboring Poland, the Russians are contemplating their biggest mistake to date. Poland is not only a NATO country, but it is also one of the most ravaged countries by WWII. They will not stand for any aggression from Putin or anyone else. This means more US troops being staged in other nations around Poland, as well as within their borders. While we are staying out of Ukraine thus far, the boys are in place. Many of them are chomping at the bit for an opportunity to be the first kid on their block with a confirmed kill of a Russian, and after the horrors, they have inflicted on Ukraine, who could blame them?
