After all the Democrats or those of the political left have done to throw President Trump under the bus, time and time again trying to discredit him and remove him from office, it would seem that nothing should shock us anymore. But of course, just when we think we have seen and heard it all, someone does or says something to create a new low for the party, showing only how absolutely heartless they really are.
The most recent occasion is given to us by none other than the “queen of warmongers” herself, as the former presidential candidate and Hawaiian Representative Tulsi Gabbard referred to Hillary Clinton as.
Clinton, as a former first lady and Secretary of State under President Barack Obama, has all the political prowess of leopard trying to feed her cubs. She is ruthless, determined, and will stop at nothing to get her beloved Democratic Party back to the top. And if that means taking advantage of the world’s worst pandemic in generations and the deaths of hundreds of Americans, so be it.
But just like the leopard, her focus on her target can often be so blinding that it can get her into trouble and put both herself and her party at risk.
On Friday, “the rot that is ruining” the Democratic Party (another jab from Gabbard), retweeted an article by The New York Times that announced the United States to be the new leader in confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide. And of course, Mrs. Clinton couldn’t help but lunge at her prey, commenting, “He did promise ‘America First.”
No doubt, the jab was meant as a joke to poke at her ever-rival and the man who dethroned her as the leader of the leftward Democrats, President Donald Trump.
But not near so many people are laughing as she and her cohorts probably assumed.
In fact, the whole thing seemed to kind of blow up in her face, painting her even more like the cold-hearted woman bent on revenge that she is.
Among the loudest of those to speak up and advise her of her misdeed was freshman House Representative and outspoken conservative Dan Crenshaw of Texas.
He wrote, “Delete your account. This isn’t the time. This can’t be the new normal, where American tragedy is applauded for the sake of political opportunism.”
Crenshaw, like any politician, is well versed in the constant jabs thrown from one side to another and then back again. But unlike some, he understands that there is both a time and a place for that kind of “opportunism.” And now, during the coronavirus pandemic, with the health and lives of many Americans on the line, is neither of those.
He explained this further during a recent interview with Fox News. He said, “There is a pandemic going on, and somebody like Hillary Clinton is so used to taking political jabs at the president or her political opponents any time there’s an outcome that is unfortunate, but this isn’t the time. This is a tragedy for all Americans, for the entire world. This is just not the time.”
