What does a federal appeals court, President Trump, the Pentagon, and Trump supporters all have in common? We are all getting our way on having the border wall built! The Defense Secretary Mark Esper made the announcement on Tuesday that the Pentagon will support and provide any additional financial means to protecting our border at the U.S.-Mexico line.
A federal appeals court overturned the ruling, which kept the funds from being diverted to build the wall. The Pentagon announced they are prepared to assist by any means necessary, including financial, to help the president fulfill his promise to the American people.
President Trump is diverting $7.2 billion from counter-narcotics funds and the Pentagon’s military construction funds to complete the project. This amount totals up to five times more than what Congress approved in the 2020 budget. There is more than one way to get things done, and President Trump is on a roll!
Mark Esper broke everything down while in a Pentagon press conference on Tuesday when he said, “The first priority of the DOD is the protection of the homeland. So the southwest border is a security issue. And so we’ll see how things play out, but we remain committed to supporting the Department of Homeland Security, and its mission.”
A reporter asked Esper if he meant supporting the building of the border wall financially as well. His reply was, “If that’s what it takes, we are prepared to support.”
Sources say President Trump wants to see $3.5 billion come from the counter-narcotics fund and $3.7 billion used from the military construction fund to complete 885 miles of fencing put up by this spring. Last year, over $6 billion was diverted from the same accounts. Not to worry, the money is definitely there to fund the wall.
A Pentagon spokesperson was asked for further comments. It was one of the “fake news” media reporters digging for information to distort the truth. This spokesperson shuts them down quickly by blowing them off and saying, “The Department of Defense has no new announcements with regard to border wall construction.”
The U.S.-Mexico border is almost 2000 miles. There will be fences in some portions and barriers in the other parts of the border. Last week, President Trump announced there were 100 miles of barriers completed so far, and he is pledging to have up to 450 miles of barriers completed by the end of this year.
Since the Democratic Congress fought President Trump every step of the way, those who are building the wall made do with what they had to work with. The barriers which have been put up so far were built with older material and technology. It is still a guarantee the wall will get the job done. New equipment and technology will be purchased to finish the project in due time from the funds provided.
There is no doubt if the Democrats were worth something and worked with the president, the wall would be finished, and its issues would be a thing of the past. Let us take a step even further back, it would have been done long before President Trump took office. The votes and the funds were already there. They just pocketed the money and put it toward their evil schemes to keep them in power.
Yes, the accomplishment fell short from Trump’s promise, but considering what we all had to go through to get this much done, he did an outstanding job!
The announcement of criticism of the Obama administration with the hardcore truth instilled in it. Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf went to a portion of completed barriers in Yuma, Arizona, and said, “Today is a milestone that’s been reached, and a celebration is in order. We have built more walls in three years of this administration than the entire eight years of the last administration.”
Certain red flags have been removed to get the border wall built so far. The Department of Homeland Security officials is doing everything possible to get this wall put up. It will be a defining moment in history for President Trump pushing so hard with the DHS.
A part of history rings similarly, but different. The power in the voice of President Ronald Regan speaking of the Berlin Wall came to mind when he told the Soviet Union Leader decades ago, “Mr. Gorbachev, TEAR DOWN THIS WALL!” Today we hear Trump saying, “BUILD THIS WALL!” It’s funny how history toys with the present.
