One of the very first journalists to ever investigate and report on the far left radical group, Antifa, was Andy Ngo. He dug deeply into ANTIFAs background and purpose in efforts to reveal the group’s true radicalized agenda. And Ngo paid dearly for his efforts when he was severely beaten by the group’s members for sticking his nose where they didn’t want it to be.
Ngo described the event as follows, “They hate me because I was writing unfavorably about them.” Which he followed up by saying, “Because I was writing honestly about what they were doing.” Not adhering to the adage of honesty being the best policy, ANTIFA felt it in their best interest to shut the reporters’ mouth for him, so they hunted him down like human game and took care of business in the only way they know-how. With violence.
In 2016 when President Trump won the presidential election, fair and square, Ngo was attending Portland State University, smack in the heart of ANTIFAs home territory, where he was training as a journalist with the University’s campus newspaper.
When it was announced that Donald J. Trump was America’s new official leader, the highly liberal crybaby citizens of Portland erupted with fury. It was a total meltdown for the peace and love city which proved beyond a shadow of a doubt, the good residents of Portland are anything but sweet as a soda pop. Their image is a facade. Fake news.
According to Portland’s Mayor, the first night of rioting caused over $1-million in damage to the city as buildings were set ablaze, store windows were smashed, and electronics were flying off of the shelves, free gratis. The violent protest was nothing short of pure unadulterated anarchy raising its vile and dangerous head, disrupting a city that thrives on their make-believe peaceful image. According to Ngo, “People in the city could not accept that Donald Trump had won.” He then analyzed the situation thusly, “There was a certain faction that manifested that hatred through violence and destruction, so that was the first time I came face to face with what I now know is Antifa.”
As it turned out, what may have been a peaceful protest without damage or personal injury, roared its way into a violent uprising, all thanks to ANTIFA stirring the pot of discourse which eventually drove the otherwise peaceful Portland crowd into an out of control frenzy. Mission accomplished. Violent disruptions continue to plague the city to this day.
Once violent rioting in Portland became the newest trend, nobody knew where one might pop-up with little to no provocation, and they were never just peaceful demonstrations. They were outright chaos. It was then when Ngo made the decision to follow the group’s activity, documenting it every step of the way.
Defying the media’s inability to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth, Ngo recorded videos of ANTIFA and began releasing them. The videos clearly showed people in all-black attire with ANTIFAs trademark ski mask covering their cowardly faces, doing 100% of the instigating at each and every riot.
When word reached ANTIFA about some lamebrain overly energetic young reporter trying to uncover the real facts about them, they labeled Ngo as a “Right-wing sympathizer” in a tweet read by every one of their members which painted a target on the reporter’s forehead. But it wasn’t until June 2019 that Antifa finally struck their bullseye when they caught up with Ngo as he was reporting on a peaceful demonstration in support of the #Himtoo movement.
“I was in the middle of the crowd with my GoPro just recording it, and then all of a sudden somebody or something hit me very hard in the back of the head and knocked me forward,” said Ngo. He then elaborated on what followed. “Punches just came from every direction. And they were striking me repeatedly in the eyes, the back of the head and the top,” he recalled. “I put up my arms at one point just to shield myself and to let them know that I am not a combatant. And then the crowd threw eggs and milkshakes at my face.” As a result of his severe beating, the reporter spent 30 hours in the hospital being monitored for a brain hemorrhage, and to this day must undergo physical, emotional, and cognitive therapy, as part of his daily routine.
Ngo continues his work in following and documenting ANTIFA because he views them as a threat to American democracy. “My criticisms of these Antifa movements, these people who are advocating for what they believe is a utopia that can happen through revolution, they don’t realize what it took to get American or Western society to the way it is today, and it could be discarded in an instant.”
It would be safe to say Ngo is a true American patriot who will not allow anarchy to destroy the nation he loves.
