Sen. Rand Paul Fighting Off Biden’s Disinformation Governance Board

As time passes on, the American understanding of and applicability of the first amendment has been under fire. As much as Republicans try to keep it truly free, the conservatives keep coming back along and demanding that speech needs to be limited. They fear a difference of opinion and different ways of doing things.

So when President Biden came out with the idea of a Disinformation Governance Board, as well as the creation of a position for a Disinformation Czar, the liberals had to go change their pants. They loved the idea of a woman being the first czar, and they believed she is fully qualified. Unfortunately for them, the rest of us have seen the dumpster fire parade of winners Biden has rolled out for the American people, and none of them are working out so well.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is looking to challenge this loft goal of the current administration. Appearing on Fox News Channel’s Jess Waters Primetime Sen. Paul made it crystal clear that he is working with other lawmakers to disrupt the creation of this board. “We’re going to shut it down. And I’m busily getting signatures from other senators. There is a way that we can get it onto the calendar. And there is perhaps a way we can actually get a vote. It’s not very easy when the Democrats control things, but I’m going to do everything I possibly can to get a vote to defund this organization…This is not your grandfather’s Democrat Party anymore. So much for the marketplace of ideas. They have decided that they are going to determine what disinformation is.”

With the lofty goal of keeping free speech truly free, Sen. Paul and many others have chosen their hill to die on. They know how important it is to keep the free exchange of ideas and goals truly free. The American people seem to have forgotten how easy it is to have their rights stripped away from them.

Many have the thought processes of that freedom always being there when it’s convenient or right to use it isn’t the way democracy and the government operate. There is no picking and choosing what qualifies and what doesn’t, but there is picking and choosing what sources are to remain free. One of those is the press.

“ But my point to Mayorkas was this. We have a $32 million Mueller investigation to see if there is collusion between Russia and Trump. There wasn’t any. And, yet, the Steele dossier, upon which they base this all on, which was given to Steele by Russians, was Russian disinformation. If they can’t admit that that’s disinformation, it was propagated by CNN for years and years. If they can’t admit that, how could they possibly do the job of policing disinformation?… But I would not police CNN. I’m against policing any news organization. The public can figure this out.”

Sen. Paul isn’t wrong here. Give the public all the information and let them sort it out. Given how haphazardly the Democrats have been providing media outlets information, and sources for data, it seems like they have already been doing this for some time, even if they don’t publicly acknowledge it. As the Democrats continue to push things to grow the Government’s control over the American people and their daily lives, it’s a good thing we have people like Sen Paul to continue defending this freedom by banding together to fight the failure that the Third Reich Propaganda board, I mean the Disinformation Governance Board would be to the American people.
