In a world full of prejudice and racial hate, it’s nice to see our lawmakers taking a stand against it and making it known just how disgusting it is. However, it would also be nice if they would check the facts before they begin spewing out their own versions of hate and accusing the innocent of crimes meant to be far more political than need be. And when those public figures are found to be on the wrong side of an argument, any argument, they should be the first to apologize and correct their accusations.
But for Democratic House Representative Rashida Tlaib, this couldn’t be further from the truth.
She has spoken out on a vast number of racial stories, giving victims a message of hope and love, while shaming those that supposedly wronged them. However, no less than four of those stories have proved to false, with the real victims being those that were accused. And yet, no apologies have been heard or seen from Tlaib.
Let’s take a look at the most recent incident.
Amari Allen, a 12-year-old student at Immanuel Christian School in Springfield, Virginia, claimed that three white boys held her down on the school playground and cut her dreadlocks off. Of course, the story went viral, getting the attention of many public figures such as the Michigan congresswoman.
Tlaib wasted no time in making a Twitter post about the incident, in which she said, “You are beautiful, Amari Allen. You are courageous & strong. You are loved.”
And she continued, “You see, Amari, you may not feel it now, but you have the power that threatens their core. I can’t wait to watch you use it and thrive. Stay strong.”
That was posted on Saturday. And on Monday, the girl’s parents announced that the girl had made up the entire story. On behalf of themselves and young Amari, they apologized to both the community and the boys who had been named and accused.
One would think an apology would also have been given by Tlaib. But no, nothing but silence was heard from her.
And this isn’t the first time.
In July, Georgia state Representative Erica Thomas posted on Facebook about being verbally assaulted in the supermarket by a white man. Naturally, this one may have hit a little closer to home with Tlaib, and so she made a point of giving Thomas her support, saying, “@itsericathomas: You are loved. You are loved. You are loved. You are loved,”
But apparently Thomas doesn’t really value honesty either, as this story was found to be downright fraudulent. And again, nothing was heard of from Tlaib.
The last two incorrect stories promoted by Tlaib were largely publicized throughout the nation and so should have encouraged an even bigger apology from the congresswoman.
The more widely known was that publicized by the TV Show “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett. He claimed that two white male Trump supporters attacked and beat him on Chicago Street early one morning. Naturally, as a well-known actor, the Smollett case gained national attention, especially since he is both black and openly gay.
Once again, Tlaib ran to his rescue tweeting, “When one of the most famous black and gay men in American is not safe, the message is clearer than it has ever been.’ The dangerous lies spewing from the right-wing is killing & hurting our people. Thinking of you @JussieSmollett, and my LGBTQ neighbors.”
However, it didn’t take long for investigators and law officials to determine the entire thing to be a hoax.
Do you think Tlaib felt convicted to apologize or issue any sort of statement on the issue? Of course not.
And the same happened when a supposedly Native American activist reported being harassed and attacked by white students at Covington Catholic High School in Kentucky. It was later found out that the Native American activist, Nathan Phillips had made the whole thing up and was not even who he said he was.
However, this was after the liberal media had attacked the boys accused of the mistreatment and made them a public enemy. Tlaib, unsurprisingly, was a part of this.
She tweeted, “This is so hard to watch. It reminds us of the growing hate & oppression we are all up against. #TakeOnHate.”
You would think as an elected lawmaker, chosen by people who expect her to not make hasty accusations, she would actually use her brain.
Instead, she only cares about promoting the liberal agenda.
