He would not draw the usual salary that a President would be paid.
After the election he is has stated, “I’m not going to take the salary.”
This should have been a sign to everyone that the President tells the truth.
Something that has once again been verified when the Mueller report came out.
During a 60 Minutes interview the President said, “I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year.”
The normal salary for a president is $400,000 a year that must be paid twice a month.
He is also not to receive any money from other sources while in offices.
The rules of the president’s office keeps him from not taking a salary.
So what he is doing is donating his salary once a quarter.
The Department of Education is to receive $100,000 of his salary.
In the previous quarter the President donated $78, 333 to restore parts of the Maryland’s Antietam National Battlefield.

The president also gets free transportation, use of the limousine, Marine One, and Air Force One.
While living in the White House the president receives $100,000 to redecorate the premises.
The White House alone has 100 people that are employed full-time for the upkeep of the building.
The payroll of the employees runs about $4 million a year.
Any clothing that they were given must be donated to the national archive once it has been worn.
There have been several presidents that have donated their salary through the years.
President Trump has donated $400,000 to various federal departments.
His personal net worth is right at $3.1 billion.
John F Kennedy had donated $100,000 to about six different charities.
President Kennedy did inherit a valuable trust fund.
While he served in Congress it was reported that he donate all that money for the 14 years that he served in the congressional manner.
Early in the 1900’s Herbert Hoover took his salary and distributed it all to several charities around the region.
Some of his staff are reported to have received some of the money.
In 1913, he had a total net worth of $4 million.
This would account to a value of $103 million.
The very first President to donate his salary was none other than George Washington.
His salary was $25,000. In today’s value it would have been $716,017.
While Washington served as a military commander he donated all of that money as well.
George Washington set an example of what it means to be a president.
It is a person that is in the office not for personal gain, but to serve the people of the nation.
