The freshman Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is in the news – a lot.
Unfortunately for her, what puts her in the spot light are her negative Twitter posts and other concerning actions.
Of course, Congresswoman Omar doesn’t see it this way and whenever she is criticized for her words or actions, she immediately plays the victim card, oftentimes with other freshman Congresswomen, such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib rallying behind her while Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi mostly remains on the sidelines.
Omar has been getting away with a lot lately. It all started with her antisemitic tweets which led to the house passing an anti-hate resolution that ended up including many groups, not just antisemitic groups, and didn’t even mention or reprimand Omar for her hurtful Twitter posts.
While Omar did receive criticism from the right and even President Donald Trump, she chose to respond with a half-hearted apology and blame many of the criticism as a direct reaction to her race and religion.
While Omar indeed comes from humble beginnings, having been a Somali Refugee whose family sought asylum in the United States, her views, expressed lately, seem out of touch with the real America and far from humble.
Not only is Omar a Congresswoman, she also sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, which gives her access to sensitive information regarding foreign policy.
Considering her many anti-American statements, one can only deduce that Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is bad for America. Take for example one of her latest anti-American speeches where she spoke at the Council of American-Islamic Relations just last month and said that the 9/11 terrorist attack on New York City and the Pentagon was “some people did something”.
Many Americans, including the President, didn’t like this. She’s gone from disrespecting our ally Israel too actually disrespecting Americans, especially those who lost their lives in the attack and the loved ones they left behind.
In response, President Donald Trump put out a video condemning Congresswoman Omar.
The video shows a clip of Omar’s statements and the Twin Towers burning, along with the words “we will never forget”.
And he’s right. We won’t. We haven’t.
Since Omar’s remarks, she’s claimed to have received death threats.
However, she is blaming these threats on President Trump and the video he put out. Whether this is true or not, President Trump has no regrets about the video.
According to an interview with television station KSTP, President Trump declared that Omar has “been very disrespectful to this country.
She’s been very disrespectful, frankly, to Israel. She is somebody that doesn’t really understand, I think life, real life, what it’s all about. It’s unfortunate. She’s got a way about her that’s very, very bad I think for our country.
I think she’s extremely unpatriotic and extremely disrespectful to our country. Despite Omar’s repeated antisemitic remarks and anti-American remarks, she still holds two powerful seats in the United States government.
During a time of heightened political correctness, where everyday Americans are shamed into keeping their mouths shut or not wearing a hat to support their president for fear of offending someone or even getting verbally or physically attacked, Congresswoman Omar seems to be one of the few who says what ever she wants while going mostly unchecked and defended by the Democratic party.
At the same time, the average American could lose their business in some states if they refuse to bake a cake for a gay wedding.
When did the scale tip? Why has it tipped? And who is about to fall over?
We can only hope it’s Omar.
At this point, it seems likely she will continue to speak what is really on her mind. And while that’s actually good for us (she’s telling America what’s inside of her heart, and we really need to know this information) it’s bad for America if she continues to claim to serve our best interests as a Congresswoman and on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
At this point, her own interests seem to be the top priority, and now that we know what they are (anti-Israel/anti-America) we, as a people, can rally around the true voice of the United States of America – our President and make sure Congresswoman Omar is not re-elected.
